Frederick Edward Plante beloved husband of Hazel, father of Faye and Cheryl passed away at the age of 84 years at the Assiniboine Centre, Friday, September 13, 2002.
Fred was born July 28, 1918 at the Rossburn Hospital. He spent his early years in the Rossburn District and received his education at the Birdtail Valley School. He left the Rossburn District in 1942. In December of 1944, he married Hazel Miller. Before moving to Brandon in 1958, Fred and Hazel lived in Saskatchewan and at Lynn Lake, Man. Fred was employed at the Anglo Oil Refinery until it closed. He retired in 1983 as Chief Engineer for Government Services at the Brandon Mental Health Centre.
Fred leaves to mourn his loving wife Hazel, beloved daughters Faye McKenzie of Vancouver, B.C. and Cheryl (Mark) Cramer of Brandon, three grandchildren: Dwayne Rhoades of Vancouver; Janelle Stoehr of Vancouver; Graydon Cramer of Brandon, one brother Darcy Plante of Brandon, one sister Margaret Gray of Vancouver, and nieces and nephews. Fred was predeceased by his father Leonard in 1938, his mother Florence in 1980, and one brother Jack in 1980.
All are invited to attend the Graveside Service which will be held at Rosewood Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, September 17, 2002 at 2:00 P.M.. A Reception for family and friends will be held immediately following the Graveside Service at the Bethel Christian Assembly.
