Obituary

JUDSON: The death of Frederick George Judson, occurred in the city on Sunday, May 17, 2009. Fred was born January 24, 1950 in Brandon, MB to parents Gordon and Lillian. He attended Alexandra School as well as Earl Oxford and Neelin schools. During Fred's early life he could be found swimming at the Kiwanis Pool in the summer, delivering papers, working at the local fairs and he enjoyed playing football for the Kruggers football team. Over the years Fred worked for Cana Construction, Jack's Maytag and B. Creighton & Son. He started work with B. Creighton & Son in the spring of 1975 and in 1987 he and co-worker, Bernie Kasprick, purchased the business. Fred and Bernie sold the business and retired in 2005. Fred married his high school sweetheart Agnes Fifi in 1971. In their life together they enjoyed raising their family. In the past seventeen years, he has enjoyed being part of his grandchildren's lives. He fondly regarded them as "the Grandies". Family was foremost and Fred had grown close to his second family, the Fifi's. Fred and Agnes loved planning large family events such as Canada Day gatherings and BBQ's as well as yearly cribbage tournaments. He enjoyed gardening, hockey, cribbage, traveling and cooking. He was a handyman and enjoyed working on projects. He loved to watch for great shopping deals around town. Fred is survived by his wife, Agnes: daughter, Tina (Rob) of Brandon: son, Arthur (Samantha) of Lethbridge. He is also survived by his grandchildren Amy, Henry and Sarah: brothers Ben (Wawanesa), David and Lori (Portage La Prairie). Predeceased by his parents: Gordon and Lillian, brothers: Wes, Bruce, Jim & Ed and sisters Pat and Claudia. The Ceremony to Celebrate Fred's Life was held at Memories Chapel on Friday, May 22, 2009 at 1:30 pm. Rev. Chris Arthur officiated. Interment followed in the Rosewood Memorial Gardens.
