Obituary

GOULSBRA: Bud Goulsbra, beloved husband of Bea, dear father of Bruce and Cindy, passed away peacefully at Fairview Home on Sunday, December 27, 1998 at age 76 years. Bud was born at Ochre River, Manitoba on September 4, 1922, son of Arthur and Nellie Goulsbra. His earlier years were spent between Ochre River and Neepawa. During World War II, Bud served with the 12th Manitoba Dragoons. He later served with the Corps of Engineers until 1958. Bud met Bea Hill of Alexander and they were married in Winnipeg in 1958. Bud began a career in the construction industry, working in many points throughout Manitoba. He retired in 1987 after working many years for Zenith Paving in the city. Bud enjoyed restoring vintage automobiles. His favorite times were spent camping with family and close friends. Bud enjoyed and appreciated music. He played the harmonica and enjoyed the many "jam" sessions. He leaves to mourn his passing, his beloved wife Bea, son Bruce (Adele) of Winnipeg and daughter Cindy (Bob) Izzard and grandchildren, Bryden and Courtney of Alexander. A brother, George and wife Helen also survive. He was predeceased by his parents and an infant sister, Eva. The ceremony to remember Bud's life was held at the Alexander United Church, Alexander on Wednesday, December 30, 1998 at 2:00 pm. The Rev. John Nesbitt officiated. Honorary pallbearers were: Ken James, Andy Pomeroy, Mel and Joyce MacKay, Fred and Margaret Yeomans, Bob and Marion Boehm and Margaret Izzard. Active pallbearers were: Jim James, Len James, Frank Izzard, Jack Leonard, Wes Williamson and Mark Yeomans. Interment followed in the Alexander cemetery. Friends who wish may make a contribution in memory of Bud to either the Parkinson Foundation of Canada, 55 Bloor Street West, Suite 232, Toronto, ON, M4W 1A6 or the Alzheimers Society of Manitoba, 437-9th Street, Brandon, Man. R7A 4A9. Arrangements were with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, 727-0330.
