Obituary

Florence Mary Wishart, beloved wife of Elvin Wishart, of Riverheights Terrace, formerly of 97 Clark Drive, passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Saturday, December 22, 2001. Florence was born July 22, 1920 in South Shields, England, daughter of William and Selena Shoebridge. In 1929, Florence moved with her parents and sister, Selena to Winnipeg, Manitoba. On August 1, 1942, she married, " the love of her life", Elvin Wishart. Florence and Elvin moved to Portage la Prairie in 1964 and then to Brandon in 1970 and have resided here since. Florence had many accomplishments including, obtaining her Social Services Certificate in later years. Her faithfulness to her God gave her great peace and strength and was an example to all who knew her. She will be remembered for her love, care and patience as a mother and "grandmother", not only to her children, but to many other friends. Her love and compassion for people and her warm hospitality along with a beautiful smile have warmed the hearts of many. Her talents included sewing, crocheting and an awesome ability to set a beautiful table and serve wonderful dainties. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband and pal, Elvin, daughter Rachelle (Mike) Miller of Fargo, ND; son Bill Wishart and her grandchildren; Kara Fritzke (Greg), Leanne Sharp (Jason), David Barrett, Dennis Barrett (Brenda), Raquella Redlin (Timothy), Nathan Miller and Jason Miller. There are four great grandchildren; Mikayla, Danielle, Brian and Shalissa. She also leaves her sister, Selena Smyth of Edmonton. Florence was predeceased by her parents, daughter, Marilynn Barrett, nephew Ernest Smyth and brother-in-law, John Smyth. The Ceremony to Celebrate Florence's Life was held at Bethel Christian Assembly on Thursday, December 27, 2001 at 1:30 pm. Visitation at the church prior to the ceremony. Pastor Mike Miller officiated. Pallbearers were: grandsons; David Barrett, Dennis Barrett, Nathan Miller, Jason Miller, Greg Fritzke, Timothy Redlin, Jason Sharp and special friend, Douglas Wurch. Interment followed in the Rosewood Memorial Gardens. Florence talked, dreamed and prayed for a new church building in Fargo, North Dakota, where her daughter and husband pastor.
