Obituary

HEARN: With heavy hearts we regret to announce that Evelyn Mary Jane Hearn (nee Lupier) lost her battle with cancer on Monday, June 13, 2005 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. Evelyn was born on December 22, 1950, the daughter of Lawrence and Elva Lupier and was raised in McCreary and Kelwood, Manitoba. Her early working years were in Winnipeg before moving to Neepawa and then to Brandon, which became home. Evelyn worked at Zekes Jewelers in Neepawa, Reesor's Jewelers in Brandon and for the last twelve years for Home Care, a job which she loved and her client's loved her. She always went "above and beyond" when caring for them and they will miss her. Evelyn always had a dog in her life and "Tooty" will miss her also. Her marriage to Brian Hearn in 1990 brought a sense of stability and contentment to her life. She was a wonderful cook and homemaker. Once summer came garage sales were her passion - she loved a "good deal". Evelyn was the most kind, generous, vivacious person who was always looking at something with the thought of who she could get it for. She loved family gatherings and many friends also became family. Evelyn had a special relationship with her brother, Eddie and his wife Ev. Having no children of her own, theirs - Storm and Sheri were as her own. She has carried this on to Sheri and Greg's children, Selena, Serena and Rain. Evelyn kept in almost daily touch with her sister, Lenore in Winnipeg. Long time best friend, Sandra (John) Barnsdale and family will feel the void in their lives as they shared many years together as friends. Evelyn had many friends she was close to and loved, you will know who you are. We are distraught at her passing and will miss her forever. Evelyn was predeceased by her parents, Lawrence and Elva; brother, Lorne; as well as some favored aunties and uncles. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Brian; brother, Ed (Ev) Lupier, nephew, Storm Lupier and niece Sheri (Greg) Lupier-Roziere and family; sister, Lenore (Ken) Dublin; nephews, Dale (Susan), David (Diane), Debra, Kieran, and Camille (Scott). Also surviving are brothers and sisters-in-law, Gwen and Gord Bowman, May Hearn, Doreen and Abe McCormack, Cameron and Karen Hearn, Jim and Irene Hearn and their families; as well as many cousins. Evelyn was a member of the Oak Park congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses and appreciated the love and support she received from them. She believed in the hope of the resurrection which made these last eight months bearable. Cremation has taken place and a Farewell Ceremony will be held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North, Brandon, on Friday, June 17, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. Todd Gabler will officiate. Interment will be held at a later date in Kelwood. The family wishes to thank all those involved in Evelyn's care and comfort. Friends who wish may make a donation in memory of Evelyn to Westman Association for Terminal Care in Hospice (W.A.T.C.H.), Unit M-435 Rosser Avenue, Brandon, Manitoba R7A 6S2. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to memorieschapel@mts.net. Arrangements are with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, 727-0330. Memorials
