DOWNEY: Evelyn Jane (nee Hunter), age 88 years, passed away on February 25, 2015 at Fairview Home in Brandon. Evelyn was born in Neepawa, Manitoba in 1926. She taught school for many years, finishing with her teaching at A.C.C. in Brandon. Evelyn was predeceased by husbands; Andrew Downey in 1988 and Donald LeRoy in 2011. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters; Barbara Mote (Gary), Marilyn Downey, Cathy Downey, Darlene Dyck (Harley). There are many stepchildren, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. According to Evelyn's wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family interment took place at Carberry Plains Cemetery. A Come and Go Memorial Reception was held at Memories Chapel on Friday, June 26, 2015. If friends so desire donations in memory of Evelyn may be made to the Alzheimer Society, Unit 4B - 457 - 9th Street, Brandon, MB R7A 1K2.
