Obituary

Ernest W. Bunch passed away on April 10, 2003 in Tsawnassen, BC. Ernie was born in Brandon on November 20, 1912, the second son of Fredrick and Rachel Bunch. He spent 38 years as a psychiatric nurse at B.M.H.C., retiring in 1972. At an early age he joined the Masonic Lodge and had a lifetime membership in the Brandon Shrine. Ernie was active in St. John Ambulance and played in the Legion Band. He and his wife Phyllis moved to Tsawanassen, BC in 1995, where he joined the local Shrine Club and U.C.T. He attended meetings until his illness. Ernie enjoyed outings and picnics with family and friends, as well as just sitting by the ocean. Ernie was predeceased by; his parents, four brothers, Fred, Greggor, Louie, Michael and his first wife, Alice Plum. He is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis (Clark), her children, grandchildren, several sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces, one of whom was like a daughter to him, Irene Doig (Michael). The funeral service will be held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North on Saturday, April 19, 2003 at 2:00 pm. The Rev. Walter Fowke from Hamiota will officiate. Interment will be in the Brandon cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ernie may be made to the Brandon Shrine Club c/o 1110 McTavish Avenue East, Brandon, Manitoba R7A 7B9.
