LINSKI: Elsie Joyce Linski, beloved wife of Mike and dear mother of Brenda and grandmother to Tracey Linski, passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Tuesday, November 4, 2008. The Ceremony to Celebrate Joyce's Life will be held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North on Monday, November 10, 2008 at 11:00 am. Mona Franklin will officiate. Interment will follow in the Humesville cemetery. Friends who wish may make a donation in memory of Joyce to the Brandon Humane Society, 2200 17th Street East, Brandon, Manitoba R7A 7M6. LINSKI: Elsie Joyce Linski, beloved wife of Mike and dear mother of Brenda and grandmother to Tracey Linski, passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Tuesday, November 4, 2008. Joyce was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on February 23, 1927, the only child of Nora and Earl Ekins. The family moved to Glenboro and then to Brandon, where she began her schooling. Following the death of her parents, Joyce at a young age lived with relatives and completed her education at King George and Earl Haig Schools. In 1944, she met Mike Linski while working at McKenzie Seeds. They were married in July 1949 and enjoyed almost sixty years of marriage. Following the birth of their daughter, Brenda in 1951, Joyce also worked at the Metropolitan Store in Brandon and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Canadian Order of Foresters (I.O.O.F.) Joyce loved camping and fishing, snowmobiling, and driving the boat, while Mike skied at their cabin at Sandy and Thomas Lakes. Joyce was a wonderful knitter and sewer, loved flowers and the garden. She loved animals, especially Tosh the dog and Louie the cat, who were never very far from her side. Blue was her favorite color, especially anything blue. Joyce is survived by; her husband, Mike, daughter Brenda (Neill Koensgen) and granddaughter, Tracey (Trent Chubbs). She also leaves cousins, Stan and Irene Sharp, Helen Sharp, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; Anne Lavallee, Hope and Steve Linski, Pat Beath, Gwen Linski and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by; her mother, Nora Sharp in 1942 and father Earl in 1943. The Ceremony to Celebrate Joyce's Life was held at Memories Chapel on Monday, November 10, 2008 with Mona Franklin officiating. Eulogy was given by her daughter, Brenda and urn bearer was Neill Koensgen. Interment followed in the Humesville cemetery.
