On Saturday, January 13, 2018, Elsie Rudena Elston (nee Seefried), age 92 years, passed away at her residence, Valleyview Care Centre. Elsie was born May 19, 1925 in Manyberries, Alberta. Her early years were spent in rural southeastern Alberta, until she moved to Brandon at age 17 to attend Wheat City Business College. While working at the College Inn Restaurant she met her future husband Bob. Elsie and Bob were married May 25, 1946. Elsie then worked at Simpson Sears in the Customer Service department for many years, then at the Crocus Credit Union until her retirement. When not at work, Elsie enjoyed sewing, knitting, gardening, many camping trips to the USA and numerous trips to Lethbridge, Alberta to visit her mother. Elsie is survived by her son Brian (Mary Anne), granddaughter Chandra, grandson Dallas (Charity). Affectionately known as "Grandma Great" she will be dearly missed by great-granddaughters Amanda and Brianne Elston and great-grandson Eli Elston. She was predeceased by her husband Robert "Bob" W. Elston in 1992. The Funeral Service will take place at the Kingdom Hall, 3434 Park Avenue, on Monday, January 22, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Todd Gabler officiating. Interment will be held in the Brandon Cemetery.
