Obituary

FALK: The death of Ella McArthur Falk, widow of Henry Roland Falk, occurred at the Riverdale Personal Care Home on Wednesday, November 24, 2004. Ella was born in the R.M. of Daly on November 8, 1911. She was raised and attended school in the Rivers area, until moving to Winnipeg as a young woman to work. There she met and married Henry Falk. Together they moved to the West Coast in 1948 and for many years either managed or owned a grocery store throughout numerous towns in Southern British Columbia. Henry passed away in 1987, but she remained in Abbotsford until December 2002 when she returned to Manitoba to be closer to family, finally moving to Rivers. Ella was also predeceased by: her parents, Sophia and Alex Beattie; her only sister, Sophia (John) Smith and her uncle Fred (Elsie) Cook. She leaves to cherish her memory and quick wit: her nephew, Evan (Margaret) Smith and their family; nieces, Jeanne (Ken) Holland, Elizabeth (Howard) Hinch, and Erna Honeyman,; cousins, Helen (Mike) Gibson, May and family in Scotland; along with her dear friend, Roxanne Palmer and her sister, Peggy of BC. The Funeral Ceremony will be held at the St. James Anglican Church, Rivers on Monday, November 29, 2004 at 11:00 am. The Rev. Canon Paul Curtis will officiate. Interment will follow in the Rivers Cemetery. Friends who wish may make a donation in memory of Ella to the Riverdale Personal Care Home for Palliative Care, c/o Pat Hillier, P.O.
