The death of Elizabeth Wallace Darling, formerly of Lions Manor and Riverheights Terrace, occurred peacefully at her residence, Dinsdale Home on Friday, April 25, 2003. Elizabeth was born on April 13, 1918 in Winnipeg, MB to Robert and Grace Breckenridge. She was raised and educated in Calgary, AB where she met and married Elmer Darling in 1936. Together they resided in Alberta for several years. Elizabeth was the Past Worthy Matron for the Order of the Eastern Star in Carstairs, AB. In 1946, Elizabeth and Elmer moved to Yorkton, Saskatchewan and then to Brandon in 1953. Following Elmer's death in 1971, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and took great delight in travelling to visit with them in Ottawa, Brandon and Abbotsford, BC. Elizabeth is survived by: her children Darryl (Merle) Darling, Allan (Barbara) Darling and Sharron (John) Amy; grandchildren Carla (Richard) Knott, Brent (Glenda) Darling, Johanna, David, and Brian Darling, and Leanne Amy; and one great granddaughter, Jessica Darling. She was predeceased by: her husband Elmer; ten brothers and sisters, Georgina Larsen, William Breckenridge, Robert Breckenridge, John Breckenridge, Margaret Carter, Jane Kennedy, Grace Hill, James Breckenridge, Hugh Breckenridge and Mary Breckenridge. The Ceremony to Celebrate Elizabeth's Life will be held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North on Monday, April 28, 2003 at 11:00 am. Pastor Ted Jannuska of Redeemer Lutheran Church will officiate. Interment will follow at a later date at Queen's Park Cemetery, Calgary, AB. Flowers are gratefully declined.
