Eleanor May Fines (nee Mathews) Eleanor died peacefully at the Palliative Care Unit at Brandon, MB on Saturday, December 28, 2013. Born in St. Boniface, MB to Emily and Otto Mathews, Eleanor was raised in Oak Point, MB. She was predeceased by brother Orval Mathews (Carol) of Oak Point, MB and sister Evangeline Sereda (George) of Thompson, MB, and survived by brother Marvin Mathews of Stonewall, MB. Lovingly remembered by children Grant (Brandon, MB), Mathew (Peterborough, ON), Rick (Lise; Peterborough, ON), Julie Johnson (Bud; Oak Point, MB), and Cheryl (Craig; Brandon, MB). Dear Amma to Corbett and Erin; Erik; Heather, Shelley and Darrell; Emily and Maya; Claire, and the late Richard Alexandre. Beloved Langamma to Fynn, Gloria, and Everett. Eleanor will be missed by "sister-cousin" Lavina (Charlie), cousins Kris (Ruth), Margaret (Reg), Cameron (Jeri), and was predeceased by cousin Vern (Doreen), Aunt Clara and Uncle Mundi, all of whom she grew up with following her mother's untimely death. Eleanor's greatest joy was her family. She loved music, and took great pride in watching her sons perform. A celebration of Eleanor's life will be held in Peterborough at a later date.
