Obituary

ANGUS: Audrey Eileen, beloved wife of Russell, passed away on April 21, 2007. Audrey was born January 31, 1926 at Laurier, Manitoba to Norman and Ida Brown. She grew up in various Manitoba places, receiving most of her education in Winnipegosis. Audrey married Russell Angus and together they farmed on the banks of Oak Creek, in the Northfield District for thirty-five years. There, they raised their family of four: Gail, Jack, Darlene and Ross. Her interests were gardening, (especially flowers) curling, crafts, and ceramics. She was a willing helper at the Northfield Community Club. The passion of life was her family. Audrey was a wonderful wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandma, sister, aunt and friend. In 1984, Russell and Audrey retired to Brandon. There she provided room and board to many young people, sharing her natural, motherly touch to each one. Audrey and Russell enjoyed many years of traveling with their trailer, following the harness races and visiting many places. The last several years they were permanent campers in Killarney, where they made many good friends. Left to cherish her memory is her caring and loving husband, Russell; daughters Gail (Ray) Smith, Darlene (George) McGregor; sons Jack (Deb) Angus and Ross (Sharon) Angus. She was a loving Grandma to eleven grandchildren and great-grandma to thirteen great grandchildren. Each one brought her love and joy and they, in return, all loved her. Audrey is also survived by six brothers: Russell, George (Emily), Elmer (Audrey), Ray, Mervin (Evelyn), Don (Margaret), and numerous nieces and nephews. Audrey was predeceased by her parents, Norman and Ida Brown; infant brother, Ralph; three sisters-in-law: Sheila, Marion and Stella. A Celebration of Audrey's Life was held at Memories Chapel on Wednesday, April 25, 2007 with Rev. Lawrence Smith officiating. A private family interment followed at the Rosewood Memorial Gardens. If friends so desire, donations in memory of Audrey may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, Manitoba R3B 0V9. The family sincerely thank the staff at Brandon Regional Health Centre and palliative care Assiniboine for their compassionate care and comfort. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.memorieschapel.com. Arrangements were with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, 727-0330.

A heart of gold stopped beating,
Working hands at rest,
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.
Leaves and flowers may wither,
The golden sun will set,
But the hearts that loved you so dearly
Are the ones that won't forget.Memorials
