ROSE: Eiddwen Rachel Rose (nee John) (Snider) passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2005 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre with her family at her side. Eiddwen was born on October 24, 1929, the eldest of three daughters to Trevor and Blodwen John. She resided her whole life in the south end of Brandon and attained her schooling at St. Michael's Academy. Eiddwen worked at Perth's (Rumford's Laundry) and the old Assiniboine where she contacted T.B. and spent two years in the Ninette San. At that time she met her husband Archie and together went on to raise three daughters. She preferred to stay at home and care for her family and was actively involved in her children??s activities. She briefly worked at Burgess Solo Store, and was a sitter at the Brandon General Hospital. She spent many hours with her husband Archie driving in the country. Following his death she moved into Parkview Seniors Coop and learned how to play whist and cribbage. She enjoyed socializing with the other residents, feeding the birds and sitting outside on warm evenings. She leaves her three daughters: Sheila (Steve) Romance, Arlene (Keith) Taggart and Catherine (Randy) Westwood. Also surviving are grandchildren Donna Addison, David, Jason and Amanda; grandson-in-law Mark Addison and great grandchildren Tyler and Haillee Addison. She is survived by her sisters Ida of Saskatoon, SK and Gwen of Dartmouth, NS, as well as many nieces and nephews. Eiddwen was predeceased by her parents Trevor and Blodwen John; husband Don Snider; and husband of 49 years Archie. The Graveside Ceremony was held at the Brandon Cemetery on Thursday, June 16, 2005. Rev. Harold Nightingale officiated. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to everyone for their support throughout these difficult times.
