Edwin Alec Randall

Edwin grew up on the family farm with his sisters near Solsgirth, where he developed a love of animals and nature. He chose to leave the farm behind to pursue a career in the plumbing trade. Although he left the farm, a love of the country and animals were close to his heart. He and his beloved wife and dance partner of almost 57 years, Joyce, found a perfect acreage close to Brandon to raise their family and enjoy country life. Edwin kept hens and raised chickens, turkeys, and ducks to provide for his family. He and Joyce tended a large garden with a big raspberry patch. The yard was ideal for family games of croquet and baseball, church picnics, and hosting friends and family. Edwin always looked forward to the orioles migrating through in spring; his birdfeeders were kept full through the seasons.

Edwin enjoyed sports and there would often be a game on in the background as family gathered around the table to play cards or crokinole or to build a puzzle. Very few could match him at crokinole or cards.

Edwin had a great love for his sisters and their families, his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchild. He loved God and served him faithfully. He had the heart of a servant and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Edwin leaves a legacy of love, faithfulness, and hard work.

Left to cherish his memory are his sons Cam (Cindy), Chris (Wanda), and Fraser (Sharalee), and daughter Leanne; grandchildren Brayden (Jordana), Calen (Katerina), Carley, Wyatt (Danita), Zoe (Seth), Quinn, and Emily; great-grandchild Charleigh; his sisters Leila, Mabel (Doug), and Bren (Dave); nieces and nephews.

Edwin was predeceased by his wife, Joyce, in May 2021; his sister Margie, Mom Frances, Stepmom Jean, niece Debbie, Dad Weston, and brother-in-law Don.

Special thanks to the staff at Rotary Villas and Valleyview Care Centre where Edwin resided after moving off the acreage in the fall of 2021.

A celebration of Edwin’s life will take place at First Baptist Church on Tuesday, October 13th at 2 pm. A private family interment will be held at Humesville Cemetery.
