Obituary

MARCINO: Edward Marcino passed away at his residence, Fairview Home, on Saturday, December 30, 2006. Edward was born on September 22, 1922 in the RM of Clanwilliam, the eldest child of Mac and Caroline Marcino. He was raised on a farm in the Erickson area while receiving his education in Erickson and Clanwilliam. Edward farmed with his father before joining the RCAF in 1944. He trained as a tail gunner and arrived in Britain just days after WW II ended. After the war, Edward bought his own land and farmed until 1962. He married Marie Bugera in 1961 and they had one son, Clark born in 1962. They moved to Brandon where he worked at Perth's until retirement in 1987. Their marriage ended in 1983 and shortly after Edward met his retirement companion, Lorna Hallemans, and they enjoyed many years of travel and activities. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, Royal Canadian Legion and the Brandon and Riverview Curling Clubs. Edward enjoyed baseball, curling and was an avid golfer who never kept score. He will be lovingly remembered by: his son, Clark (Joan) Marcino; sister, Mary Leganchuk (nee Marcino); uncle, Joe Marcino. Edward was predeceased by: his parents, Caroline and Mac and sister, Lena Leganchuk. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church, 327-4th Street, on Saturday, January 6, 2007 at 10:00 am. Celebrant will be Fr. Ragu Madanu. Interment will follow in the Veterans' Section of the Brandon Cemetery.
