Edward Charles Airey

“Edward Charles Airey of Brandon, Manitoba passed away peacefully on July 20, 2026. He would have been 93. He will be sadly missed by family and friends.

 Ed was born on August 3, 1933, in Hamiota, Manitoba and raised on the family farm in Kenton. He spent the rest of his working life and retirement years in Brandon. He married Isobel Helen Brown on August 10, 1957, and they were blessed with three daughters (Sandra, Susan, & Shawna). He was a devoted husband and father. Ed was an outdoorsman: loving to fish, hunt and spend time at the Clear Lake cabin. He also loved woodworking and completed many beautiful pieces of Intarsia. He was a founding member of the Riverview curling club and a regular volunteer at curling events. He enjoyed sports and was an avid fan of the Brandon Wheat Kings and Toronto Blue Jays.

Ed was predeceased by his parents Charles & Beatrice, brothers Thomas & Raymond, son-in-law Jim Higgens, and brother-in-law Neil Burke. Ed is survived by his loving wife Isobel and his three daughters Sandra Geraci (Jeff), Susan Burgess (Dave), & Shawna Airey (Mark). He also leaves to mourn his 8 grandchildren: Jaron (Angela), Josh Higgens, Alison, Joel, Josh McPhail (Bret), Brittany (Blake), Koel, & Krew; along with 4 great-grandchildren (Fraser, Max, Joey & Jace). He is survived by his sister Lynn Kroeger (Jake), sisters-in-law Elisabeth Burke & Irene Brown, brother-in-law Ian Brown (Karen), and several nieces & nephews.

The family will cherish Ed’s memory in private.
