Edna Ida Evanonki of Fairview Home passed away on Friday, November 17, 2000. Born in Kipling, Saskatchewan on April 5, 1922, Edna lived her childhood years on farms with her mother and sister. Her father passed away when she was quite young. She married Barney Evanonki and they moved to Victoria, BC where Barney was posted with the Canadian Army. While living there, twins were born to them. Edna belonged to the Brandon Wildlife Association, The Royal Canadian Legion #3 and the Hockey Booster Club. An avid fisherwoman, Edna had an unbelievable number of Master Angler awards in Rainbow Trout, Walleye, Jackfish, and Brown Trout. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, gardening, and dancing. Edna is survived by her daughter, Donna (Jerry) O'Connor of Langdon, Alberta, grandson Sean and great grandson Andrew, all of Langdon, Alberta; son, Don (Bea) Evanonki of Brandon, grand daughters, Traci (Dwayne) Gaucher, great granddaughter, Jocelyn Gaucher, all of Brandon; Suzanne and fiance Brian Atkinson. Edna was predeceased by her husband, Barney, her parents, John and Jean Herter, and sister, Irene Naismith. The funeral service will be held on Monday, November 20, 2000 at 2:30 p.m. at Memories Chapel, 330 - 18th Street North. All in attendance will be considered Honorary Pallbearers. Interment will follow in the Veteran's Section of the Brandon Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined. Those who wish may make a donation in memory of Edna to a charity of choice.
