HOLMES: The death of Edgar "Ed" Hudson Holmes of Brandon, Manitoba, formerly of Truro, Nova Scotia, occurred at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Saturday, August 19, 2000. Ed was born July 11, 1931 in LaFleche, Saskatchewan to parents Clare and Clara Holmes. In his earlier years, he spent time in the Canadian Armed Forces. Later in life Ed became a collector of fine antiques. He thoroughly enjoyed people and time spent with family and friends. Ed is survived by his son Wayne; sister Helen Dunn; and brother Bert (Marilyn) Holmes. He was predeceased by his daughter Deborah and brother Warren. Friends are invited to Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North, Brandon, Manitoba on Friday evening, August 25, 2000 between 7:00 and 8:00 p.m. to offer condolences and greet the family. Ed's cremated remains will be interred in the family plot in Truro, Nova Scotia at a later date. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in memory of Ed may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
