JACKSON: After a brief illness, Stuart Jackson, beloved husband, dad and papa, passed away at the Health Sciences Centre on Thursday, May 27, 2004. Stu was born on May 15, 1943 in Middleton, NS and spent his childhood in Inglewood, NS. He enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces in 1964; his first posting was to Rivers, MB where he met the love of his life on a blind date. Stu and Lesley were married June 10, 1967. While stationed in Rivers they had two children, Scott (1967) and Lori (1970). He was posted to Mont Apica, PQ; Summerside, PEI; Vancouver, BC and Alsask, SK where he retired in 1987. After his retirement he moved to Rapid City where he resided until his passing. His greatest pleasures in life were playing darts, playing cards with his family and friends and working in his garden and around his acreage. Stu was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #75, Army, Navy and Air Force Branch #10 and the Rapid City Agricultural Society. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Lesley; son, Scott (Bridget) Jackson; daughter, Lori (Ted) Nickel; and the pride and joy of his life, his five grandchildren, Adrianna, Loren and Tristan Jackson and Anthony and Tanisha Nickel. He is also survived by his mother, Evelyn Jackson; sister Kathryn (Bob) Theriault; brothers, Billy (Bev), Howard, Lester, Chris (Eleanor), Gary, Dean (Jacquie) and Tim; sisters-in-law, Eileen (Ted) Zagozewski, Alberta Fordyce; and brother-in-law, Blair Fordyce and numerous other family members. Stu was predeceased by his father, Clarence; sisters, Audrey Fisher and Suzanne Jackson-Hill; mother and father-in-law, Albert and Jean Fordyce. The Funeral Ceremony will be held at St. James Anglican Church, 590 Columbia Street, Rivers, MB on Wednesday, June 2, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Paul Curtis will officiate. Pallbearers will be: Gordie Pearce, Evan Smith, Garth Inglis, Vern Moyer, Norman Smith and Harry Beck. Honorary pallbearers will be: Laurie Tame, Joe Ross and Bert Cluney. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery. Friends who wish may make a donation in memory of Stu to a charity of choice. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to memorieschapel@mts.net.
