BROWN: Douglas Harvey Brown of Brandon, passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. Doug was born on April 4, 1964 in Stratford, Ontario. At a young age the family moved to Cambridge, Ontario. Doug attended elementary school in Cambridge and loved to play hockey and baseball. In October of 1975, the family moved back to Onanole, to be closer to family. He continued playing his sports in school and loved the summer holidays at Clear Lake. After finishing his education he worked for the L.G.D. of Park, then at Spring Hill Farms in Neepawa. Due to failing health he was forced to retire from the work force. After living with his parents for a few years he moved into an apartment in Brandon where his brother resided. They spent many happy times on their scooters exploring Brandon. Failing health, he made the move to Fairview Home. Doug will be dearly missed by his mother and father, Ruth and Elwood, his brother Dwayne, sister Lorie, brother-in-law Tim, nephews Eric and Ryan, Auntie Marian, Auntie Shirley, Uncle Len, Uncle Gerald, Aunt Verna, Aunt Connie and many cousins. Memorial service was held Monday, August 22, 2011 at Memories Chapel in Brandon with Elgin Hall officiating. Interment will be held in Onanole Cemetery at a later date. Friends who wish may make a donation in memory of Doug to a charity of choice.
