TEGG: In the early morning hours of Friday, September 3, 2004, Dorothy "Dot" Georgena Tegg, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away in Brandon, Manitoba. She was in her 86th year. To cherish her memory and mourn her passing are her children; Terry (Fay), Betty "Bettes" (Ron) Ardiel; grandchildren Tyler, Brody, Amy and Tara Tegg and Rory and Shallon Ardiel; her brother Arthur (Laverne) Scott; and many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and good friends. Mom was pre-deceased by her husband of 52 years, Clarence and her sister Kathleen. Mom was born and raised in Killarney, Manitoba where she attended school and worked in the local bakery. She enjoyed telling the story of how she met the love of her life on the dance floor. She and Dad courted for a short time, were married and started their life together in an area commonly known as "Teggville" on the North Hill in Brandon. She was a devoted, loving wife and mother. After their two children were grown, she worked at the Stylerite Store in Brandon. Mom and Dad moved to a small acreage south of Brandon in 1970 where many fond memories were made. Mom was actively involved with the Foresters' Hall working with the catering committee, rarely missing a dance or a social event. She was also a long time member of St. Mary's Anglican Church. She will always be remembered for the homemade bread and buns she readily donated to many teas and bazaars. After Dad's passing, Mom moved back to the city, eventually residing at Oddfellows' Corner where she continued to live life to the fullest. Her passion was the dance floor, and she thoroughly enjoyed attending teas, going out for lunch and supper and playing cards and bingo. She always dreamed of winning it big at the casinos and in the lotteries. Mom carried herself with dignity and grace. She was a consummate lady and always dressed "to the nines". She shared her delicious cooking, baking and crocheted afghans with many of her family and friends. Even though her social calendar was always full, Mom was happiest when surrounded by her family. She took special interest in her children and grandchildren, always wanting to know where everyone was and what and how they were doing. She was always there for them. We believe that Mom has journeyed to be with Dad and they are playing their late evening card games and dancing the night away. We are comforted by her long and wonderful life, by the peace in which she passed and the essence of the spirit in which she lived. "So long Mom, we will miss you". Your love and memory will be cherished forever. The Funeral Ceremony was held at St. Mary's Anglican Church on Tuesday, September 7, 2004. Rev. John Dolloff officiated. Interment followed in the Brandon Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. Friends who wish may make a donation in memory of Dorothy to St. Mary's Anglican Church, 401-1st Street, Brandon, MB R7A 2W8 or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, #3-824-18th Street, Brandon, MB R7A 5B7.
