The death of Dorothy Joanne Curtis, beloved wife of Edward "Ed" of Brandon occurred at the St. Boniface Hospital, Winnipeg, MB., Saturday March 26, 2005. CURTIS: It is in deep remorse that the family of Dorothy Joanne Curtis, announce her sudden passing on Saturday, March 26, 2005 at the St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg. Dorothy was born on November 19, 1935 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, daughter of Mabel and Henry McQuade. She married her childhood sweetheart, Ed Curtis, on June 7, 1958. Together they raised two daughters, Mavis (Norm) Morrissette of Winnipeg and Donna (Alf) Zdebiak of Brandon. One of Dorothy's greatest joys were her grandchildren, Candace, Erin, Brian, Renie, Chris and Sarah. She will also be missed by her sister, Mavis Burr and twin brother, Dennis (Shirley) McQuade; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Dorothy was involved with the seniors at the Army & Navy, she enjoyed family gatherings, camping, knitting, baking and doing puzzles. Dorothy was loved and inspired by all who knew her. The Ceremony to Celebrate Dorothy's Life will be held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North, on Thursday, March 31, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Laird Russell-Yearwood of Central United Church will officiate. Private interment will follow in the Brandon Cemetery. Friends who wish may make a donation in memory of Dorothy to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 3-824-18th Street, Brandon, MB R7A 5B7.
