BELL (nee McKinnon): Dorothy Irene - April 11, 1916 - March 15, 2006: peacefully on Wednesday, March 15, 2006, Dorothy passed away at Central Park Lodge. She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Edith (Thomas) Gillett, son, Kenneth (Claire) Bell; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by: her husband, Bill in 1983; parents, Lauchlan and Bessie McKinnon; step-father, Bob Mason; brother, Douglas and sister, Gladys. Dorothy was born and raised near St. Rose du Lac, MB. She married William David Bell in Dauphin, Manitoba in 1936. They resided there until 1954, when they moved to Brandon. Dorothy wanted to be remembered as a loving wife and mother and a good homemaker, and in that she succeeded. Children and grandchildren alike will all remember the many great summer hot dog roasts, picnics and swims at the lake in Dauphin and Rivers, as well as the ongoing kitchen monopoly, card and crokinole games, often involving three generations of family and neighbours. In more recent years, lake picnics with granddaughter Allison continued to be a special joy. According to Dorothy's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a private graveside service at the Turtle River Cemetery at a later date. Sincere thanks to the gentle and loving caregivers at Central Park Lodge. Friends who wish may make a donation in memory of Dorothy to a charity of their choice. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.memorieschapel.com Arrangements are with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, 727-0330.
