CROSSON: The family of Donald Albert Crosson, sadly announce his passing at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Saturday, January 14, 2012. Don was born at Moosomin, Saskatchewan March 16, 1924, the son of John and Olive Crosson. He lived on a farm near Moosomin before moving to the McAuley area in Manitoba. Don received his schooling at Little Bluff and DeClare schools. During World War II, he served in Belgium, Holland, France and Germany and after the war worked on a farm at Manson, Manitoba. Don later became the Elevator Manager at Justice, Manitoba. Over the years, Don took part in many community projects while living at Justice. A Legion supporter, he was a 66 year member of the Royal Canadian Legion. He loved sports and often said he went to school so he could play ball! Many years were spent in the curling rink and he also enjoyed watching curling in later years. Many happy times were spent with family and friends at Sportsman's Park. Surviving are: his wife Kathryn Jane (Silverthorn); children Kelly (Shirley) Crosson, Myrna (Brian) Knapp; grandchildren: Cody (Kaley), Teal and Sara and great-grandson Cole. Also surviving are brothers: Ken (Phyllis) Crosson, Jim Crosson, and sister, Jean Backlin; brothers-in-law Howard Frape and Les Sheane as well as many nieces and nephews. Don was predeceased by his parents John and Olive Crosson; siblings, Fred and wife Beverly Crosson, Harriet and husband Grant Johnson, Merle Frape, Velma Sheane and by brothers-in-law; Ron Towler, Garry Backlin and by sister-in-law, Joyce Crosson. The Ceremony to Celebrate Don's Life was held at Memories Chapel, 330 - 18th Street North on Saturday, January 21, 2012 (today) at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Barbara Jardine officiated. A private family interment took place in the Rosewood Memorial Gardens. Flowers are gratefully declined.
