CLENDENNING: Donald Clare Clendenning of 476 Leslie Bay, beloved husband of Maxine, passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Wednesday, February 12, 2003 at the age of 73 years. Donald, as a young child, enjoyed life on the farm where he was born on September 7, 1929, in the Kenton area. He moved with his parents to Rivers, Manitoba, in the mid 1940's, where he attended elementary school and high school. He was employed by McKenzie's Store. He then moved to Brandon and attended Wheat City Business College and shortly thereafter obtained employment with the Department of National Defence at Shilo, where he worked for thirty years. In 1956, he met Maxine, the love of his life and best friend. They were married on Thanksgiving Day, October 14, 1957. Don enjoyed his work, loved classic cars, reading, and telling humorous stories, gardening and his dogs, Snoopy and Mickey. He was predeceased by his father Maxwell S. Clendenning, February 1958; mother Elizabeth L. Clendenning, February 1960; and baby brother Bobbie, four years of age. Don is survived by: his beloved wife, Maxine; brother-in-law, Eric (Octavia) Dandy; "little" sister-in-law, Carol (John) Suter, and Cam and Barbara Moore. He is also survived by his cousins: the Ramsay families; namely, Elbridge, Robb, John (Esther), Lillian, and Betty Hunter-Aab, and Elwin (Elaine) Kettner. Don will be sadly missed by us all. The funeral ceremony was held at Memories Chapel, on Monday, February 17, 2003. Arlene Robertson of First Presbyterian Church officiated. Our friend, Dwayne Wright, provided special music. Pallbearers were: Richard McCallum, Eric Stewart, David Dingman, John Glutek, Jim Cameron and Cam Moore. Interment followed in the Brandon cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. Friends who wish may make a donation in memory of Don to a charity of choice. Arrangements were with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, 727-0330. Memorials
