BREEN: The death of Diane Christine Breen, beloved wife of the late Norman Breen, occurred at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Saturday, November 4, 2006 following 2 + weeks of quality palliative care with her family and pets at her home. Diane was born May 10, 1942, the only child born to Francis Wesley Still and Diane Coulla Mitrou. When she was six years old, her family moved to Fort William, Ontario, where she began her schooling. In 1950, after a family break up, she and her mother returned to Brandon where Diane continued her schooling, graduation from St. Michael's Academy in 1960. Upon graduation Diane began work at CFB Shilo as a secretary. It was in this setting that she met Pierre Emile Dugas. When Emile was posted to St. Jean, Quebec, Diane followed him and they were married on November 21, 1962. In 1966, Diane and Emile adopted Brent Emile Dugas and it was a year later that Matthew Peter Dugas was born. The family moved back and forth with various postings between Quebec and Nova Scotia until the marriage ended in divorce in 1972. In 1973, Diane returned to Brandon and began working at city hall.
