Obituary

MUIRHEAD: Deloris Evelyn. February 23, 1932 - February 23, 2015. Deloris passed away peacefully at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. She leaves behind her husband Russell; children Dennis (Cheryl), Brenda (Barry) Ogg, Doug (Jennifer), Alan (Diane); grandchildren Jody (Scott), Erin, Ryan and Justin, Keith, Kayla and Jenny, Jackie (Jack), Tanya (Chris) and Lori (Bentley); great grandchildren Cole and Josh, Holden and Jessie, Jordan and Mason, Sheldon and Scott, Jocelyn and Nathan and Jon. Deloris also leaves to cherish her memory, her mother Geraldine, sister Beverly (Gerald) Olmstead, brothers Gary (Shirley), Murray and Dwight Johnson; sisters-in-law Joyce Morrison and Betty Johnson, many nieces and nephews, aunts and an uncle. She was predeceased by her father Ernest; brothers Kenny, Wayne and Stuart. Born to Ernest and Geraldine Johnson just north of Austin in 1932, Deloris married Russell in 1951 and moved to the Muirhead farm site at Douglas. She was a stay at home mom with four children and worked hard on the farm, taking meals to the field to feed hungry men. Once the kids were gone, she went to work outside of the home until she retired. Many barbeques were held at the farm. Going to bingo with the girls and out for supper with family and friends were greatly enjoyed. Puzzles were a favourite past time and she left a one thousand piece puzzle incomplete; the family has now finished it for her. She enjoyed a cabin at Clear Lake for many years. Going for a "Sunday" drive was one of her favourites. Deloris was active in the Douglas Women's Institute for thirty-eight years, where many a quilt was put together. She was a good mom, friend, caring person and always patient. We love you and will miss you. The Celebration of Deloris' Life took place March 4, 2015 at Memories Chapel with Rev. Barb Jardine officiating. The family wishes to thank the EMS staff, doctors and staff at the Brandon Regional Health Centre, Dr. Ward and staff at the Carberry Health Centre and the staff at Memories Chapel for their compassionate care and patience during this time. We would like to thank everyone for their kind expressions of sympathy, flowers, cards, food and donations in memory of Deloris. If friends so desire, donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 3 - 824 - 18th Street, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 5B7.
