Delwyn "Del" Pringle
November 1935 – December 2025

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Delwyn "Del" Pringle, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Del was born in Souris on November 6, 1935, to parents Melvin & Mildred Pringle. The family moved to Boissevain in 1948.

When Del was entering Grade 12 at the Boissevain Collegiate, the Brandon University hockey team contacted him as they required a goalie, and he attended for one year on a hockey scholarship.

Del's first employment was Assistant Municipal Clerk in Boissevain. In 1963 Del and his brother Wayne bought the Men's Wear Store now known as the Pringles Sports Excellence. Del moved to Brandon in 1978 and his nephew Ken purchased Del's shares. It's now moved into three generations.

Del loved sports and played ball into his sixties but his first love was hockey and played for many years with the Boissevain Border Kings. In his fifties he found it difficult to quit but the goalie equipment won out as it became too heavy. He also enjoyed curling and golf. In his sixties he joined the senior ball team, the Coyotes, and played in tournaments in Alberta and B.C. They won the Western Canadian and played in Florida. I won't go into details, but we had a great time.

Del was a charter member of the Boissevain Lions Club and transferred to the Wheat City Brandon Club. He has been a member for 67 years. Some of the Lions awards have been "Melvin Jones", "Hope", and the "Lions MD5M Hall of Fame" presented at the International Convention in the U.S. Del also worked on local committees for Scott Tournament of Hearts, Canadian Mixed Curling, World Youth Baseball, World Curling Championship, The Brier, and other events.

Del joined the Real Estate business and became a partner/sales associate of Century 21 until his retirement on December 31, 2004. He was awarded "The Realtor of Distinction Award."

Del and Leona were married in 1978. They both enjoyed traveling to many countries and three ocean cruises.

Del will be remembered by his wife Leona and his three sons: Craig (Denise), Brent (Cindy), Guy (Anne), and stepdaughter Debbie Nesbitt, 10 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren, Del's brother Wayne (Laurette) and families.

Del lived life to the fullest. We are grateful for the love, laughter, sense of humour, that wonderful smile, and many mischievous pranks. He leaves behind his legacy of kindness, generosity, a life well lived and his love for sharing a glass of rum.

The Pringle family would like to thank Valleyview PCH for their compassionate care of Del.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, at Trinity United Church at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald Street #10, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2 or the Boissevain and Morton Foundation, Box 1075 Boissevain, MB, R0K 0E0.
