David George Sherritt entered into the presence of his Lord on Wednesday, December 20, 2000, at Dinsdale Personal Care Home. David was born in Shoal Lake, Manitoba, on June 18, 1906. He was the oldest son of James and Maudie Sherritt. On November 2, 1948 he married Velma Mack of Selkirk, Manitoba. David farmed at Rossburn, Manitoba from 1922 until 1960, at which time he moved to Brandon, Manitoba. He was employed at the Department of National Defence Camp Shilo until retirement in 1971. David was predeceased by his wife, Velma in 1996, his father James in 1973, his mother Maudie in 1974, brother Raymond in 1976 and sister Pearl Cameron in 1982. David will be fondly remembered and missed by his daughter Rhoda and husband Hessel Dethmers of Dauphin, Manitoba; his granddaughter Suzanne and husband Kevin Cottyn of Winnipeg, Manitoba; nephew Ray and wife Nellie Cameron of Winnipeg, Manitoba; brother-in-law Arnold and wife Ella Mack of Phoenix, Arizona; cousin Sylvia and husband Michael Brown of Hamiota, Manitoba, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. The Funeral Service was held at Bethel Christian Assembly on Friday, December 22, 2000. Pastor Mike Davis officiated. Interment followed at Rosewood Memorial Gardens. Arrangements were with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, 727-0330. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at the Dinsdale Personal Care Home for all their love and care of Dave over the past 4 years.
