LUCAS: David Richard Lucas of Sprucewoods passed away at his residence on Saturday, December 28, 2013. Dave was born in Wilcox, Saskatchewan on August 19, 1933, the son of John and Rosalina Lucas. Dave served in the Canadian Armed Forces for 38 years, settling in Sprucewoods on his retirement. He was a member of the Korean War Veterans of Canada. Dave is survived by his daughter Susan Banks and granddaughters Melissa and Jennifer as well as numerous relatives. He was predeceased by his wife Shirley in 2004. A graveside ceremony was held in the Veterans section of the Brandon Cemetery on Thursday, January 16, 2014. Padre Albert Lee, of C.F.B. Shilo, former chaplain to 11 Field Artillery Regiment officiated. Following the graveside a gathering at the Sprucewoods Community Hall to remember and celebrate Dave's life was held.
