Obituary

Darcy Lee Myers, beloved husband of Linda and dear son of Calvin and Marlene Myers of Brandon passed away unexpectedly at a motor sporting event at Bottineau, North Dakota on Saturday, July 21, 2001. Darcy was born on March 17, 1961 in Souris, Manitoba. He was educated at Souris Elementary and Junior High schools and Vincent Massey and Crocus Plains High schools in Brandon. Darcy went to Assiniboine Community College where he trained in Heavy Duty Mechanics. In his early years he worked at the family Drive-In Restaurant moving to Brandon in his early teens. Darcy worked at various jobs such as DJ, working on a farm, CMHA, Sears, Reesors, and most recently an owner/operator with Rush Courier. He was involved with Cubs, Scouts, and Sea Cadets. He was especially adept at all kinds of repairs, "It was Darcy to the rescue". Darcy's passion in life was racing stock cars with his "Myers Built Motors". 2001 was a winning season with Darcy placing 1st in points in both Bottineau, North Dakota and Souris, Manitoba. Just shortly before his passing he placed 1st in the main Stock Car Feature at Bottineau. He was ecstatic because he finally had the winning combination after years in the making. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and snow mobiling as well as a good practical joke. Darcy always enjoyed time spent with his family, and his coffee buddies. His nieces and nephews were especially significant to him. Darcy lived each day to the fullest and never lost the wonder of childhood.
