EAGLE BEARS: The death of Dale Clifford Thomas Eagle Bears, beloved husband of Heather, loving father to Jaimeson, Jordan, Michael, and Eileen, occurred at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Monday, December 18, 2006. A public graveside ceremony will be held at the Veterans' Section, Brandon Cemetery on Thursday, December 21, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Mike Davis will officiate. Flowers are gratefully declined. EAGLE BEARS: Dale Clifford Thomas Eagle Bears passed away on December 18, 2006 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre after a short battle with cancer. He was born Dale Bears in Winnipeg on February 3, 1962 to Thomas Samuel and Eleanor Bears. Being the son of an Air Man, Dale received his education at Bagotville, Quebec, Summerside, P.E.I., Shilo and Brandon, Manitoba. Dale joined the army in July 1985 with the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry. Later he remustered to EME as a mechanic. He was stationed at Wainwright and Calgary, Alberta, Germany, Winnipeg, Cyprus, Alert, N.W.T. and Shilo. While in Alert, Dale was the only Canadian Service man to have his tour cut short from being bitten by a wolf. Dale retired from the forces in 2005. After retiring, Dale worked as a grater operator for Zenith Paving, driver for Brandon Sun and a mechanic for Twin Service. Dale was a member of No. 3 Legion, Brandon and Bethel Christian Assembly. He loved sports. At a young age he started swimming and playing hockey then to figure skating, baseball and football. He refereed many hockey games for Brandon Youth hockey and surrounding areas. Sometimes doing 6 or 8 games in a day. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Heather (Eagle); four children Jaimeson, Jordan, Michael, and Eileen. His mother Eleanor Bears (nee Crowther); sisters Jessie and Heather (Kevin); brother Brian (Linda); father and mother-in-law Don and Ruby Eagle; brother-in-law Larry (Kelley); 3 nephews, one niece, aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. Dale was predeceased by his dad Thomas Samuel Bears in 1996 and infant son, Christopher Dale Eagle Bears in 2002. A graveside ceremony was held at the Veterans' Section, Brandon Cemetery on Thursday, December 21, 2006. Pastor Mike Davis officiated.
