KNIGHT: Daisy Eveline Knight, formerly of Erickson, MB, passed away peacefully into the presence of the Lord at her residence at Central Park Lodge, Brandon on August 16, 2002 with family by her side. Daisy was born on the family farm in Herbert, Saskatchewan on May 13, 1914, the fifth of seven children. She met and fell in love with the handsome George Knight and they were married on November 3, 1932 in Saskatoon, SK. They began their lives together by farming in the Dunblane area. When the drought became severe, they bought a farm in the Erickson area, packed their belongings, their remaining stock and their two children and headed east to Manitoba. In 1941, George joined the R.C.A.F. as a Military Policeman, stationed in Winnipeg. Daisy and family then moved into the village of Erickson. Returning in 1945, George and Daisy with their family of five children, continued to reside in Erickson. Daisy was a wonderful mother and homemaker. In 1957, they decided on a new venture, purchasing Park View Cabins at Onanole, MB. Daisy's love of people soon had guests returning every year. In 1970, they sold the business and returned "home" to Erickson, where they remained for their retirement years, enjoying fishing, camping, curling, card parties, miniature golf, friends and grandchildren. After a severe stroke in 1992, Daisy made her final residence at Central Park Lodge in Brandon, so she could be close to her family. She put up a valiant effort until she laid it all down and went to be with her Lord and be re-united with loved ones gone before. Daisy is survived by: her three daughters; Geraldine (George) Vandermeulen and Gloria (Howard) McBurney, both of Souris, Madeline (Haven) Brugger of Brandon and one son, Charles (Emilie) Knight of Winnipeg. She also has five grandsons: Randy (Kathie) Vandermeulen, Larry Vandermeulen, Ken (Michelle) Brugger, Sean McBurney and George Knight. There are four granddaughters: Janice (Gerry) Hollett, Brenda (Tim) McKitrick, Sandi (Gene) Granstrom and Leisa McBurney. She is also survived by eight great grandchildren: Breeanne, Brittany, Brooke and Brigette Hollett, Victoria McKitrick, Jayme Brugger and Logan and Dillon Granstrom. She also has many nieces and nephews. Daisy was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Mary Jacobs and all her siblings, by her beloved husband of 48 years, George Knight in 1980 and her precious daughter Joyce in 1966. The funeral service will be held at the Erickson Lutheran Church on (Date). Pastor Lanny Knutson will officiate. Interment will follow in the Erickson Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, #3- 824-18th Street, Brandon, MB, R7A 5B7 or to a charity of choice.
