Obituary

Peacefully, on Sunday, June 24, 2018, Dagmar Wirch, passed away at the age of 75 years. Born in Lodz, Poland July 5, 1942, Dagmar emigrated to East Germany, then fled with her family to West Germany. They eventually settled in Canada, making Winnipeg home. Upon completion of Teacher's College in Winnipeg, Dagmar taught grades 2, 3 and 4 at Teulon Elementary, then taught at Brandon Christian School. Always one to keep busy, Dagmar was a member of the Nifty Needlers, Seniors for Seniors and a volunteer at Hymn Sing at Rideau Park Lodge. In her spare time she enjoyed creative writing, quilting, knitting, dolls and hats, as well as attending Music in the Park and local festivals. Dagmar will be lovingly remembered by her husband Arthur; children Mona (Dennis) Nakonechny, Cam (Colleen), Howard (Manda), and Theresa Wirch; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild and her sister Margo White. She was predeceased by her parents Livia and Eduard Falk and brother Frank Falk. The Funeral Service took place at Bethel Christian Assembly on Thursday, July 5, 2018. A reception followed. Pastor Doug Vandekamp of the Christian Reformed Church officiated. Interment will follow at a later date at Brandon Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in memory of Dagmar may be made to the Crisis Pregnancy Centre, Westman Inc., 229 Princess Avenue, Brandon, MB R7A 0N5.
