Obituary

Cynthia "Marge" Rose Tomko (nee Fidler)
April 25, 1938 – December 29, 2025

With heavy hearts, the family announces the passing of Marge on December 29, 2025 at the age of 87 following a brief battle with leukemia.

Marge was born April 25, 1938 in Selkirk, Manitoba. She was predeceased by her husband Lawrie in 2019, and is survived by her sons, Peter and Clifford; her daughters, Laurie-Jean (Denys) and Samantha (Ross); grandchildren Dustin, Blaine, Damon, Breanne, Brittany, Paige, Brandon, Evan, and great-grandchildren Sienna, Ethan, Natalie, Gage, and Lawson.

In 1965, Marge moved to Arborg where she raised her family and became a valued member of the community. She was a talented seamstress, known throughout the area as the person to go to for alterations and custom-made items. If it could be sewn, she could make it. Marge also loved spending time at the Arborg Legion, where she was a proud member for 45 years. She generously volunteered her time working the meat draw and enjoyed participating in all the functions held there, forming many lasting friendships over the years.

After the passing of her husband in 2019, she retired in Brandon, MB, to be close to family and formed many new friendships at her retirement home and PCH.

Marge’s family would like to thank Brandon Health Centre for their care. A special thank you to the wonderful staff at Dinsdale Personal Care Home whose care, kindness, and friendship made Mom feel loved and part of their family.

As per Marge’s wishes, a private family service will be held in her honour.

Always remembered, always loved.
