Obituary

Colin Fisch, loving father, husband, son, brother and uncle passed away on June 25, 2003. Colin Bryce Fisch was born in Wakaw, SK on May 11, 1970 to Bill and Marlene Fisch, and was a brother to Kirby, Brian and Karen. Colin's childhood years were spent in Eastend, SK and Moosomin, SK where Colin graduated from High School in 1988. In 1989 Colin attended a program in Prince Albert, SK for his chosen career as a Corrections Officer. A job at the Brandon Correction Centre followed his training. Colin was a Corrections Officer 1 and spent a period of time on the Correctional Emergency Response Unit. He earned a great deal of respect from his colleagues and was close friends with many of them. Colin's greatest achievements in life were his daughter Jenna who was born on July 10, 2002, and his wife Debbie who he married on August 11, 2001. He was in love with everything about his wife and daughter, and his life revolved around every step they all took together. Colin's other great talents and achievements included his remarkable talent for music as he played piano, violin, and saxophone as a kid, and participated in the high school band until he graduated. In his adult years, the sound of power tools became Colin's music. He and Debbie purchased a house, and they proceeded to make it home by thoroughly renovating the entire house themselves. Colin loved fishing, mountain biking, skiing in the mountains, spending time with his family, and watching hockey, especially the Brandon Wheat Kings and the Toronto Maple Leafs. You could often find Colin at a Wheat King's game with his brothers, his friend Randy and his nephew Kyle. Left to mourn Colin are his wife Debbie and his daughter Jenna, his parents Bill and Marlene, his brothers Kirby and Brian and their wives Joanne and Rachel, his sister Karen and her husband Steve, his nephew Kyle, his niece Karina, his Grandmother Julie Puhach, his mother and father-in-law Evelyn and Dave Heape, his sister-in-law Connie and her husband David, Colin's niece Katie, nephew Carter, and nephew Grayson, and countless other cousins, uncles, aunts, relatives and friends who were all touched by Colin's life. The funeral service was held on Saturday June 28 at Memories Chapel. The service was performed by Colin's neighbors, Captains Garry and Dora Keeping from the Salvation Army. An honour guard was provided by Colin's colleagues from the Brandon Correctional Centre, and a police escort to his final resting place was provided by members of the Brandon City Police. The Interment took place at the Brandon Cemetery. The pallbearers were Colin's cousin Jared Puhach, Colin's colleagues and friends David Smith, Dave Farquhar, Don Carnegie, and Randy Cullen, and close family friend Murray Fuchs, brother-in-law of Kirby. Colin's wife and the entire family thank everyone for their love, support, prayers, flowers, cards and all the food during this difficult time.
