REID: Clifford Revell Reid of Brandon passed away in his 70th year after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's and Cancer at the Assiniboine Centre on Saturday, January 29, 2000. "Cliff" was the eldest son of Ernest and Viola Reid, born at Regent, Manitoba. He attended school in Elgin and Winnipeg. Cliff farmed a number of years at Elgin and then enjoyed a long successful career in real estate in Brandon. He was predeceased by his parents, father-in-law, Ernest Brown, brothers-in-law, Marvin Downey and Donald Shaw. Cliff is survived by his loving wife, Diane (Brown) and sons; Robert (Penny) and grandson Brett; Jason (Brenda) and grandchildren, Jenna and Morgan. He also leaves his sister Audrey Shaw, mother-in-law, Vera Brown, sister-in-law Lois (Fred) Zmetana, brothers-in-law, Merrill (Grace) and Cameron (Sharon) and their families as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and dear friends. He made many friends and was a kind, loving husband, father and grandfather. The funeral service was held at Memories Chapel on Tuesday, February 1, 2000 at 1:00 pm. The Rev. Jim Brown of St. George's Anglican Church officiated. A private family graveside service followed at the Elgin cemetery, Elgin, Manitoba. Flowers are gratefully declined. Friends may make a donation in memory of Cliff to a charity of their choice. Arrangements were with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, 727-0330.
