CARMICHAEL: Clarence Laurie Carmichael. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather on Tuesday, July 25, 2006 in his 84th year. Clarence is survived by Jennie, his loving wife of 59 years; children Randy (Kathy), Darlene and Terrilyn; grandchildren Tammie (Dave), Darcy (Hawley), Tom (Diane), Tim (Melissa), and Ted; great-grandchildren Breanna, Cole, Brooklyn, Eilidh and Mhairi. He is also survived by his sister Margaret; sister-in-law Evelyn and many nieces and nephews. Clarence was predeceased by his mother and father, Mary and Robert Carmichael and brothers, Norman, Joe, Bill, Harold and Don. Clarence was born on July 20, 1922 and raised in St. Claude, Manitoba. He was married and lived in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba prior to relocating to Brandon in 1960. While in Brandon he was employed at Camp Shilo. Clarence retired after more than 25 years of service. He continued to reside in Brandon until his passing. Clarence and Jennie were foster parents for many years. He was also a member of the Lion's Club. He was a loving, giving, supportive individual; his family was his life's breath. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. The Funeral Ceremony was held at Memories Chapel on Saturday, July 29, 2006, with Rev. Laird Russell-Yearwood officiating. Pallbearers were: Thomas and Diane Crawford, Timothy and Melissa Crawford, Theodore Crawford and Tammie Bettiol. Clarence was laid to rest at the Rosewood Memorial Gardens.
