Obituary

CANTELO: Clarence Lyle Cantelo, 1960 - 2009. In the early morning hours of April 6th Clarence left our world in the presence of his family. Clarence's family were paramount to his happiness and he lived his life with them foremost in his thoughts. Clarence is survived by the love of his life, wife Diane and his daughters Shawna (Andrew), Michelle (Bryan) and their mother Elaine. He was so proud of his daughters and his first granddaughter Danna. He is survived by his parents Harold and Jean and his siblings: Laura (Lindsay), Donna (Henry) and their children NadegT and Jolene, Carol (Ken) and their children Tyea and Tegan, and a brother John. He is also survived by Diane's family; mother Sigrid; sisters Barb (Bill) and daughter Lisa and Tracey and son Nicholas and brother Steven. He was predeceased by his grandparents, a sister Mary-ann; brother-in-law Allan and his children in infancy twins - Christopher and Christine. As a young boy Clarence spent a lot of time with his cousins at the family farm in the Virden area. Perhaps it was from here he developed a love for animals. Clarence was educated in Brandon, attending Brandon University - psych nursing and graduating from ACC. Clarence loved sports, starting with hockey at the rink on 23rd and in the boxing ring as part of Team Canada, Olympic try-outs in Quebec and his standing of 3 times provincial middleweight champion. During his younger years he had many jobs in which his work ethic carried to his profession as manager, Leitch Livestock at the time of his passing. His passion and loyalty for this job was unsurmounted. The true measure of a man is his compassion and love for his fellow man. This was evidenced in his many friendships and his kindness for all and any in need. Clarence enjoyed his animals, his yard and his rocks. The Ceremony to Celebrate Clarence's Life will be held at Central United Church, 327-8th Street on Thursday, April 9, 2009 at 1:00 pm. Joe Ball will officiate. Flowers are gratefully declined. Friends who wish may make a donation in memory of Clarence to the Brandon Humane Society, 2200 17th St. East, Brandon, Manitoba R7A 7M6 or to a charity of one's choice. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.memorieschapel.com. Arrangements are with Memories Chapel & Pre-Pre-Planning Centre, 727-0330.
