Clara Ellice Bestward, of Central Park Lodge, passed away suddenly at the B randon Regional Health Centre, on January 17, 2001 at the age of 82 years. Clara loved the simple things in life. She spent many hours watching T.V. and reading, and therefore, became known at Central Park Lodge as "the whiz" at current affairs quizzers. She also enjoyed Sunday afternoon drives, which often included a stop for ice cream. Clara was a dedicated member of the CCF and later the NDP, volunteering in many different capacities throughout her lifetime. Clara is survived by two brothers; Melvin and Kenneth as well as a nephew Duncan and his family. She was predeceased by her husband Melville, brother; Telmer Foss and sister; Belle Wilkie. Since her husband's death, Clara often spoke of wanting to be together with her "Mel". Clara's remains were laid to rest in her husband's plot in the Veteran's Section of the Brandon Cemetery. Now she will rest in peace with him. Arrangements were with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, 727-0330.
