ATAMANCZUK, Jacqueline: I was born in Brandon on October 7, 1932 becoming part of a loving family with my sister, Elaine and parents, Frank and Marjorie Moore. My father worked as a Conductor for Canadian Pacific Railroad, and was a World War I Veteran. My mom, Marjorie, who was always a lady, made the little we had seem like we had it all. I had a wonderful childhood growing up with my best friend "Buddy". Basketball was my sport and I was even inducted into the Hall of Fame. Richard and I were married on August 15, 1952. We sailed the "Pond" for Scotland that September where Richard played hockey. We returned to Brandon, where we spent almost 52 years together. Our first daughter, Terrie Lynn was born November 24, 1953; Ricki Marie was born on September 16, 1957 and Sherri Jacqueline came into our lives, December 23, 1961. Our daughters are the love of our lives. I was the proud Aunt of: Fran, Bill, Rob and Jeff Crossman. My sister, Elaine, was loved and missed. I began my career as a florist with Patmore's when I was 16 years old. I opened my own business "Flowers By Jacquie" which I operated for 20 years. I am thankful to all my customers that made my business a success. I have fond memories of the years we were Wheat King billets. We had lots of fun with the young men that entered our lives and kept in touch. Daughter, Terrie's first job was professional for the Figure Skating Club in Devils Lake, North Dakota, where she met local radio personality Lyle Romine. They were married in Brandon in 1973 and moved to Fargo, North Dakota where they live today. In 1980, Terrie gave birth to our first grandson. Jesse spent a lot of time with us in Brandon and on many trips. Jesse now resides in Boseman, Montana. Our daughter, Ricki married Donnie Woods of Brandon. Together they had two sons, Tyler in 1986 and Stefan in 1989. Donnie is employed by the City of Brandon and Ricki with Hillcrest Place. Daughter, Sherri works in the airline industry, which allowed us to visit family in other parts of the world and take vacations with her, as well as vacations with our grandson's. Sherri resides in Calgary. My grandson's have been very special in my life. Each one of them have given me the gifts of joy, laughter, and love During my illness I was fortunate enough to remain in my home, where Tyler was a loving companion, sharing his time and living with both his parents and us. Tyler with his kiss and backrub every time he entered the room; he was my breath of fresh air. Before and throughout my illness, my special neighbours and friends, Bill and Beryle Everingham, Wayne and June Wilhelm and Craig and Judy Brownlee, spent many happy hour get togethers with us, which were often the highlight of my week. I would like to thank all who were with me in their thoughts and prayers. In closing I want to share a poem which I wrote a few years ago.
My family, my neighbours and friends.
My Park Avenue kids, we sure grow them nice on this street.
That's why I'm sure no matter how long it takes,
We all once again will sometime meet.
Never be sad when someone has to die.
We all have to go some day.
Who says we can't have our happy hours at 4:30 every day.
Just give me a toast and I'll toast you back.
I'm sure you will feel the visits.
Look after the Superintendent for me.
And remember me for "The Good Times".
