KOLOSKI: Charlie John (September 14, 1922 - March 11, 2008). Charlie passed away peacefully with family by his side, at his residence Hillcrest Place on Tuesday, March 11, 2008. Charlie was born, raised and educated in Rossburn, Manitoba where he lived and farmed until 1978. Charlie married June (nee VonHagen) and together they had four children. Since 1978, Charlie lived in Brandon until his passing. While living in Brandon, Charlie obtained his welding certificate from Assiniboine Community College, an accomplishment he was very proud of at his age. Most of Charlie's years in Brandon were spent working as a farm labourer for Doug Marvin. Doug and his family were very special to Charlie, he considered them his very good friends as well as his employer and he enjoyed spending his time at the farm. He loved the outdoors and felt the most comfortable while doing farm work. Charlie also liked animals and often had a cat or two living with him. Charlie was predeceased by his youngest son, Brad in 1998. He was also predeceased by his mother and father; brothers: Steve and Louis; sisters: Anne, Alice and most recently by his twin sister Vic. Charlie is survived by his son Jack (Maureen); daughters: Shelly (Bill) Old, Cathy (Gord) McLachlan; daughter-in-law Pat Koloski; grandchildren: Michael (Kristen) Kolosky, Jordan Old, Kayla and Cody Koloski and great granddaughter, Hailey Kolosky. Special thanks to the staff at Hillcrest Place for the friendship and care given to Charlie. The Ceremony to Celebrate Charlie's Life was held at Memories Chapel, on Friday, March 14, 2008. Rev. Laird Russell-Yearwood of Central United Church officiated. Interment will follow in the Rossburn Cemetery at a later date. Donations in memory of Charlie may be made to a charity of one's choice.
