DONOGH: Charles Weaver Donogh of Brandon, MB passed away at Fairview Home on Monday, May 10, 1999, at the age of 83 years. Charles was born April 3, 1916 on a farm near Griswold, MB. Upon moving to the Souris area, he attended Huntington School. Charles worked as a creamery driver for Brandon Creamery. He was an avid motorcyclist and delivered groceries for "Butcher & Sons" on his side car. On January 24th, 1942, Charles married Kathleen Scott. Shortly after their marriage, the Donoghs resided in Kingston and then Hamilton, Ontario before Charles left for the war overseas. In 1946, Charles and Kathleen started farming south of Brandon. They moved to their present farm location in 1950, where they operated a dairy farm until 1958 and grain farm until 1994. The Donoghs faithfully attended Bethel Temple, where Charles was active in the band, Sunday School, and the board. The family often enjoyed holidays and spent time at their cottage at Pelican Lake. Charles excelled at mechanical maintenance and innovation. He maintained and repaired older machinery for himself and sometimes for neighbors. Charles was predeceased by his beloved wife, Kathleen, on August 5, 1991; his parents, Andrew Lee and Jenet Evelyn; brothers, Andrew, Harold, Allan; and sister Evelyn Pierce. He is survived by his sons; Garry, Brian (Claudia) & grandson Justin, Bruce (Evelyn), & grandchildren, David and Jenna all of Brandon; sister, Vi Johnston of Calgary; sisters-in-law, Irene Donogh and Ethel Donogh both of Brandon, as well as many nephews and nieces. Funeral service will be held at Bethel Christian Assembly, 440 Richmond Ave., on Thursday, May 13, 1999 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ron Pierce of Neepawa officiating. Interment will take place at Rosewood Memorial Gardens. Donations in memory of Charles may be made to The Gideons, P.O. Box 20060, Brandon, MB - R7A 5Y8.
