Cecilia Katherine was born in Shaunavon SK, on January 10, 1930, and passed Sunday December 31, 2023, at Elkwood Manor in Elkhorn, Manitoba, with family by her side.

She was the oldest of 15 children, to the late Christine and August Moyer. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Cliff Durnin, Grandson Tony, and Great Grandsons Hunter and Kodi, as well as siblings Sylvester, Theresa, Roger, Philip and Andrew.

She leaves to mourn, daughter Donna Sutley, grandchildren Delton, Rick, Gwen (Doug), Rod and Christine (Kurt), great grandchildren Nickarre, Kira, Renae, Zander, and Cruz, great great Grandchildren Payton, Van, Marlee, Lucas and Mason.

Son Glen (Rosalyn) Sutley, grandchildren Alana (Henry) Neufeld, and Nadine Sutley; great grandchildren Alexander, Robin, and Emily, and great great granddaughter Juliet.

Daughter Norma (Garry) Moriarty, grandchildren Candace (Richard) Betteridge and Miranda Fiarchuk, and great Grandsons Shane, Joel, Seth and Kole.

Also left to mourn are her brothers and sisters, and many nieces and nephews, friends, and friends who became family.

Cecilia's family has lived from Alberta to Ontario, where she had a beautiful flower garden at every home! While living in Deep River, their trailer was the first one that everyone saw by the highway, so she made sure the flowers were spectacular! One day she had Glen help with the weeding, where he picked ALL the flowers and left all the weeds! Cecilia finally settled in Brandon MB where she met and married Cliff Durnin, in 1994. They had many years of dancing, gardening and traveling together.

Cecilia worked hard her whole life. In her youth she helped on the farms and took care of her siblings. Her adult years were busy between raising her children, and working secretarial, seamstress, waitressing, at Sears, at the credit union in Minnedosa. Her last position she interviewed with rollers in her hair and got the job at real estate agency Martin and Rungee, later to be named Royal LaPage.

After retiring she kept busy with volunteering at Brandon General, The Kidney Foundation, as well as any other opportunities to help! Cecilia and Cliff also traveled as much as possible, flying to Scotland and England, and Bus trips to Alaska, Branson, Missouri, and Minot, usually to see her favorite singers perform! She was always busy and up for an adventure.

Cecilia loved baseball, curling, and working at the Briars in Brandon.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Memories Chapel, 330 18th Street North, Brandon, MB at 11:00 am with the reception to follow.
