CATHERINE LOUISE WAREHAM

September 18, 1952 - February 20, 2026

Sadly, Cathy passed away after a short stay at the Grace Hospital, in Winnipeg. Left to morn are husband Blaine; son Clark; daughter in law Darcy; sisters, Karen Gibson, Corinne Vukelic, Christine Dyke; brother Randy Dyke, sister-in-law Karen Dyke; as well as Tom and Crystal Watson, Rick and Cinta Wareham, Murray and Debra Moffat, Dennis and Theresa Wareham; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Cathy was predeceased by her parents, Arnold and Margaret Dyke; brother Rick Dyke; brother-in-law Ranko Vukelic; nephew Terry Dyke; and sister-in-law Shelley Glenn and her husband Don Glenn.

Cathy was born in Grenfell, Saskatchewan and the family lived in Oakshella, SK where Arnold ran the family grocery store. When Cathy was 6 they moved to Rocanville, SK as new owners of the store there. At that time Cathy was excited to start school, but the school burned down that very year. However, she fondly remembered being bused to a small school outside of town. Sometimes in winter when the roads were blocked in a snowstorm they got to school in a horse drawn van and had to take their lunch.

After graduating from high school in Rocanville, Cathy moved to Regina where she took a secretarial course, and then her working career began. She started with a brief job in Indian Head, SK, and the next summer she operated the Dairy Treat in Rocanville. Then in 1974 she started at the Brandon General Hospital as a medical secretary. After a number of years there she moved on to work with Dr. Rooney. Following a few years there she worked at H&R Block in administration. All this experience proved to be very valuable as she then began her career in the financial services business. She spent 35 years helping clients and agents achieve their goals. She will be truly missed by her Experior family.

Cathy and Blaine were married in 1982 in Brandon, Manitoba on a bright sunny day; December 27 was a little chilly, but she never noticed. The happy couple lived in Brandon for a few years and then out to their acreage in 1988. Clark came to live with us in 1984 and attended school in Forrest.

Cathy enjoyed life and really loved to travel, but what she most enjoyed was visiting with family. Whether it was playing canasta at Ricks, watching a football game at Randy’s, time out at Moosomin Lake, visiting at Corinnes, or being at her parents’ anniversary celebration, she loved the time. Trips to Cuba, Portico Rico, Florida, Nashville, Charleston, LA, and Vegas were all great, but the one she most enjoyed was the time in the Dominican Republic. In 2008 we arranged a “family trip” there and it proved to be a special time to share with brothers and sisters and create many unforgettable memories. Another time that Cathy really treasured was when we spent a glorious week with her brother and sisters at a B&B in Penticton, BC. Even though the pool wasn’t heated, sharing stories, laughs, and meals was great.

All of this is to say that FAMILY was very important to Cathy.

The Service to Honour Cathy’s Life will be held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North, Brandon on Monday, April 20, 2026 at 2:00 p.m.
