MORGAN: It is with grieving hearts, that we, the children of Catherine Margaret Joyce Morgan (nee Michie) announce the passing of our most beloved Mom on Monday, October 15, 2007 at the age of seventy-six years. Mom was born in Rainy River, Ontario on October 13, 1931 to John and Dorothy Michie. At the age of four, Brandon became her home. Mom grew up in Brandon and this is where she met the love of her life, our father, Idris "Ike" Morgan, at the age of thirteen years. It was love at first sight. After six years of courtship, which involved many hand holding sessions at the skating rink, and dances on Friday nights, Mom accepted Dad's proposal to be wed, December 30, 1950. In 1952, the beginning of Mom's greatest joys, her children, began to follow. Unfortunately they were to be cherished only for a short time. God, understanding her sorrow at the loss of her children, blessed her with six more: Paul, daughter Michelle; Pamela (Doug) Davis, daughter Catherine; Catherine Cynthia (Keith) Sisson, sons Jordan and Matthew; Dennis, daughter Candace, son Devon; Greg (Penny), sons Jeff, Adam, and Jason; John (Carla), daughter Deanna, son Trevor and a chosen son Russell Joss, sons Corey, Derek, daughter Buffy. Years following, God gifted Mom with many grandchildren and great grandchildren, to whom each one she loved dearly.
Mom is survived by two sisters, Cheryl Adamson and Jeanette Gagnon and one brother, Paul Michie, all three whom showered Mom's life with love and laughter. She has been truly blessed. Mom's faith in God was shown throughout her life, not only in her role as a mother, but in the many years of dedication to being a Brownie/Girl Guide Leader; Sunday School Teacher/Superintendent; choir member; church camp counselor; ACW/50 Plus Coordinator; hospital volunteer and other services, too numerous to mention. The years of enjoyment at the cabin; her singsongs; dancing together in the living room and the way she could make a piano dance every time she played it are memories that will be cherished forever. For the brief period that Mom made Dinsdale Personal Care Home her place of residence, she was blessed with much love and care from the staff. The staff quickly became not only her friends, but family. Mom was touched by the lives of the staff and she quickly became their "Little Sweety" or their "Sleeping Beauty". A gift that will be treasured always. As Mom's health began to deteriorate, she gained the love and loyalty from the staff of Camelot Personal Care. She maintained a special friendship with Elaine Beam, who quickly became a person of refuge, a spiritual sister, and a true friend she could always count on; to Kelly Giordani, Mom's "Buddy" who made Mom light up each time she was with her. Both women's gentle spirits and open hearts cradled Mom through some pretty tough times and she loved them bother for being such a big part of her life. Mom loved life and lived it the way her Lord taught her.
