At the age of 95 years, Catherine Johanna Margaret "Katie" Brockway, widow of the late Dr. Robert "Bob" Brockway, passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at her residence, Rideau Park Personal Care Home.

Katie lived a life of learning and volunteerism. Her contributions to the Brandon Festival of the Arts (both as volunteer and performer) and Westman Communications Group as volunteer camera operator and program editor were extensive. "The Humanist Alternative" on WCG featured Katie and Robert for a number of years discussing a wide variety of topics. An enthusiastic fan of classical music, Katie performed on the recorder as a member of Collegium Musicum, a baroque group with the performers often being in period costume which Katie designed and sewed. An annual highlight for Katie for many years was a trip at CAMMAC, a music camp north of Montreal.

Katie's love of animals of a wide variety was well known. She had a menagerie of pets and was often called upon to nurse injured birds back to health.

In accordance with Katie's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no memorial service.
