WOODS: Carol Ann Ellen was born on August 28, 1952 in Barrie, Ontario to Leonard and Alberna Moore. She grew up in Kemptville, Ontario, and after high school worked at a flower shop. In 1982, a friend set Carol up on a blind date with Doug Woods... the rest is history. On January 23, 1984 their daughter Darlene was born. Later that year, Doug moved to Brandon, Manitoba, found a home and relocated his family. On July 12, 1985 their second child Leonard was welcomed into the family. Carol and Doug were married September 9, 1986. Carol loved her family and spent most of her children's early years at home. She enjoyed playing outside with them and most often all the other kids on the block. She had a great sense of humour and loved to tease her children. Most weekends were spent at Doug's parent's home, Bill and Velva Woods, in Cypress River. Later in life Carol worked at Sobey's in Brandon as a courtesy clerk. When not a work, she loved being outdoors and her hobbies were jigsaw puzzles, writing out recipes, crocheting and going for coffee with her friend Angie. Carol was a simple, plain person who never wanted to grow with times. She was not interested in the internet, using a debit card, or even a cell phone. All that mattered was her family. Carol fell sick on September 13, 2018 and passed away at the Assiniboine Centre on September 18, 2018. She is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Doug, of Brandon, Manitoba; daughter Darlene (Adam) of Coaldale, Alberta; son Leonard of Brandon, Manitoba; grandchildren Sierra and Sydney; brothers Garry, Lee (Terri Lynn), and Jeff all of Kemptville, Ontario. She was predeceased by her parents Leonard and Alberna Moore of Kemptville, Ontario and Doug's parents Bill and Velva Woods of Cypress River, Manitoba. A private family service was held.
