Obituary

POETS: Camilla (Milly) Marie Poets (nee Van Achte) of Hillcrest Place passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 1, 2003. Milly was born July 3, 1914 in Ghent, West Flanders, Belgium to Aloysius and Sophie Van Achte. The family immigrated to Canada in 1919 and made their home in Swan Lake, MB. Milly married Charlie Poets in 1939 and they raised four children. She was a member of United Commercial Travelers. She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, bingo, knitting, and her grandchildren. For many years Milly provided her family with flowers from her greenhouse to beautify their yards. She is survived by her children, Dave (Phyllis) Poets, Doris Moore, Terry Poets of Brandon, Ron (Jill) Poets of Duncan, BC; grandchildren, Cheryl Mansoff, Donna Butterfield, Brenda Moore, Debbie (Chuck) Burton, Holly (Tom) Johnson, Dean Poets, Natalie, Serina and Laurissa Poets, Sandra (Norm) Clarke, Dennis (Tina) Poets, Darryl Poets; and eleven great grandchildren. Milly was predeceased by her husband, Charlie Poets in 1981, parents, seven brothers, two sisters, and son-in-law, Murray Moore. The family have requested that the funeral service will be held in the spring of 2003. Donations in memory of Milly may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association Westman Region, B 727-10th Street, Brandon, MB R7A 4G7. Arrangements are with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, 727-0330.
